Poppady pop popsters, it's me, Adam Walton again, you're favourite voice on the radio and you're guide to whats hot and what's not in the Welsh Music Scene.
Popping up on the radar this week, is the amazing docile tones of The Druid Jews. An unearthly sounding Hebrew mixup from The Rhondda Valley. Hamish Goldstein fronts the band and is about as unorthodox as it gets. The free wheeling, sound of loneliness is apparent in this lovely little package of pure Welsh genius.... And I'm English, so I know what I'm talking about.
In the studio this week we also had a guest spot for Derwyn Jones Evans. Derwyn comes from Porth and has made an entire album consisting of sheep sounds.. It really has that sense of 'Welsh' about it, this album. I predict big things for Derwyn and his sheep. We're hopefully trying to get some of his sheep into the studio next week for a live session.
As you all know, every week I try and bring you guys (cos you're the people that matter) the real best from Welsh music... Not that utter shit that makes me and you look bad... The proper good stuff... Remember who brought you the stereophonics, The Super Furries and of course The Manic Street Preachers.... Who was that again?
So please please please make me like myself a bit more and sent in your amazing Welsh licks, because I really care about the Welsh music scene and I'm honestly not trying to make a mockery of it.
Thanks again.
Adam 'Dai' Walton.
